Acorn - Interventions

Mrs Cottrell and Mrs Scott

The intervention team work with individuals or small groups to fill gaps in learning and support the next stage in the child’s development. Interventions are identified through pupil progress meetings and are tailored to the individual needs of the child.

90% of children at Woodfield have had at least one intervention this academic year with 76% of those achieving their target or making good progress towards it.

Interventions include phonics where all children have been working towards an end of phase target.

Physical exercise programmes such as Fit to read and Sensory Circuits are used for those children with sensory processing needs and are known to improve handwriting and English skills.
